Iconic Woodstock Festival Photos That Prove That They Were a Combination of Pure Fun and Heady Performances
SMILE FOR THE CAMERA, JERRY GARCIA
The Grateful Dead was an American rock band formed in 1965 in Palo Alto, California. The band is mostly known for its eclectic style of music which fused rock, folk, country, jazz, bluegrass, rock and roll, blues, gospel, reggae, world music, and psychedelia. They were greatly known for their performances of lengthy instrumental jams in the 1960s. Jerry Garcia was the lead singer of the group and he was part of the Woodstock Festival and came out with a career-best performance. But as they say, even if you think in your head that your performance will turn out to be perfect, sometimes it does not turn out to be so and it was the same for Jerry.
While this picture is not stating the obvious and he looks quite chill with his pose in his eclectic fashion gear, a few hours down the day it was a case of not grinning for a photo op but grinning and bearing it as his performance was hit by technical snags.
