Dunya Hayali

Dunja Hayali is a German journalist and TV presenter. Her parents are Iraqi Christians who moved from Baghdad to Vienna and then later to Datteln. Dunya studied from 1995 to 1999 at the German Sport University in Cologne with a focus on “media and communication” and even during her studies the ambitious journalist did internships at various radio and television stations.

After graduating, she started as a sports presenter at Deutsche Welle radio before joining ZDF, where she has been moderating the “Aktuelle Sportstudio” since 2018. In the meantime, Dunja has even won the Golden Camera.

In 2008, Dunja publicly came out as a lesbian, but she keeps her private life secret as much as possible.
